As part of the project “Improving Waste Policy Implementation in Armenia,” funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) with technical support from Brooks Hannas & Partners, the Armenian delegation visited Serbia to explore best practices in waste management.
During their visit, the delegation toured the Vinča Resource Recovery Center to gain firsthand insight into the functioning of Belgrade’s modern waste management system and to assess the potential applicability of similar solutions in Armenia.
We were honoured to present the Belgrade Waste Management Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Project, the newly constructed facilities, and our approach to waste-to-energy production, in full compliance with the highest EU environmental standards.
In addition to visiting our facility, the delegation also met with representatives of the Municipality of Pirot, the company Sekopak, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection, in order to better understand the institutional, legal, and technical aspects of the waste management system in Serbia.
We believe that the knowledge and experiences exchanged during this visit will contribute to more effective waste management in Armenia and support the development of sustainable, locally adapted solutions.
