The photos show progress of works at the Vinča Resource Recovery Center complex on 1st of February.

Construction of Energy-from-Waste facility is ongoing, equipment is delivered, approximately 99% of works have been performed and works on energy plants for energy recovery are underway.

The new sanitary landfill started operations in August 2nd, 2021. Municipal waste collected by PUC Gradska čistoća from the territory of 15 municipalities of Belgrade is disposed of at the new landfill in compliance with the highest waste management standards of the European Union and Serbia. On average, 500 to 600 trucks that is 1,500 tons of municipal waste arrive at the Vinča landfill. Construction of new sanitary cells is ongoing.

A leachate treatment plant will be put into operation soon to which leachate will be conveyed through a network of pipes and canals, and after treatment it will be discharged into the Osljanski stream, so clean water will flow into the international waterway of the Danube River. Leachate will be treated by reverse osmosis technology.

This week, we have hosted a delegation led by representatives of the Secretariat for Environmental Protection and the Belgrade City Administration, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, along with experts from JASPERS (EU) and IPZ Uniprojekt. Students Site Visit at the Vinča Resource Recovery Center

We had the pleasure of hosting students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade at the Vinča Resource Recovery Center last week. This visit was part of their Waste Management course, specifically designed for second-year Master’s students specializing in Process Technology and Environmental Protection.
