We were pleased to welcome a delegation from Romania to the Vinča Resource Recovery Center, who are working on improving waste management systems in the Bucharest area. Representatives of the Romanian company Rom Waste Solutions SA — Ms. Eugenia Vasiliu, President of the Board, Mr. Stefan Ponea, CEO and Mr. Mircea Lazea, COO as well as representatives of ITOCHU Corporation (Bucharest office), Mr. Nozomu Yamato, General Manager, and Ms. Valeria Ana Toporiste, Assistant Manager, visited the site.
During the visit, Mr. Katsuhiko HOSHIKAWA presented the operations of Beo Čista Energija and the functioning of the first EfW facility in the Balkans. Best practices and experiences from both markets were shared, with joint ambition to further develop innovative solutions in this field across the region.
The Belgrade Waste Management PPP project is a valuable example of good practice, bringing together experts in the field and fostering constructive discussions on the future of sustainable waste management.
